BATU/RED BALAU

Batu

Batu/Red Balau offers a long lasting beauty without uneven wear or splitting. Batu/Red Balau also provides a durable and strong deck that adds the perfect amount of warm, rich color to your home. Batu/Red Balau is sourced from countries that are leaders in ecological, sustained forestry practices.

Batu/Red Balau is a kiln-dried hardwood. Adequate air flow under the deck is essential . Kiln-dried deck boards will not shrink appreciably after installation. They will, however, expand during periods of high humidity or prolonged rainfall.

This managed-growth, plantation grown hardwood from Indonesia is twice as hard as normal Mahogany with less color variation than other hardwoods. Batu/Red Balau can be finished and maintain a "furniture look", or allowed to weather to a silver gray.

  • Kiln-Dried

  • Extremely dense, tight-grained wood. Deep red with a minor amount of fine brown lines.

  • Surfaced four sides. Remains smooth and splinter free.

  • Premium selected heartwood- no knots, no defects.

  • Four (4) times harder than Redwood.

  • Naturally resistant to rot or decay.

  • Virtually maintenance free.

  • A reddish-brown wood that will fade to a weathered gray if left untreated. To retain the rich color, a high quality penetrating oil finish with ultraviolet inhibitors is recommended

  • Environmentally responsible- This product comes from managed-growth forests that are replanted in a program of sustainable agriculture.
